I saw a painting by Gino Severini within the Vatican’s Collection of Modern and Contemporary Religious Art. The painting depicts two doves (pigeons) and some books. What is this called? Is there an image of it online? How can I find out more about this painting, or find an image of this painting?
There doesn’t appear to be an image online. To idenitify it you would need to go to a good library and go through a listing of the complete works of Severini – by Daniela Fonti – known as a Catalogue raisonee . The book will give illustrations of all his known works. Once you have the title of this painting then it might then be worthwhile looking up the picture up online to hopefully find some information about it.
